35 weeks

This week my appointments move to weekly. my last appointment I sat there for an hour before seeing the doctor, so i'm not looking forward to this weekly thing.. or being swabbed next week. ah.

~ I've gained 3 more pounds the past two weeks.
~ Cove has officially dropped! he loves to poke his bum out on my right side. he is always on that side.
~I've had more hip and back pain since he dropped, but have been sleeping so well since being home in my own bed!
~ Still no stretch marks on my upper half!
~ My app says Cove weighs about 5-6 pounds and is around 18 inches long. I can feel him getting super squished in there!
~ It is more comfortable to stand than sit at this point. but overall, I would rather just lay on my side.
~ 5 more weeks!! (or less)

christmas photo drop

let me start off by saying that Christmas this year was a dream! We were able to go up to pleasant grove and see both of our families for a WHOLE WEEK! it was so good to see everyone and spend so much quality time with our families. it really was such a blessing. we were definitely spoiled and couldn't be more grateful-our families are amazing. even cove got some early presents :) here's some pictures I snapped through our adventures.

We started off by seeing the Macy's candy window up in SLC, and followed by dinner
at the Lion House.

Temple Square & the Tree of Life

Kaden found a dove in his backyard. It ended up being a bird his dad had let go
a couple days earlier haha but he was still excited about catching and holding it.

We stayed in our pj's and didn't get ready all day on Christmas, so Kaden got to
be the one in the picture cause my hair was crazyy.

34 weeks... AHH

Random Updates:
~ so I know it's been forever since I've posted anything on here, let alone a bump update, but I had an appointment today and thought i'd update:) our life lately has consisted of baby shower #1, finals, and crazy work schedules. On top of that, me just feeling huge and ugly which makes me not want to write anything haha, but I've been feeling really good lately and am getting really excited/nervous!
~ First of all, I am going to be a mom in 6 weeks, or maybe even less, and to be honest I am freaking out. Yes I helped raise my four younger siblings, I know how to calm crying babies and the crying doesn't really faze me because, well, babies cry no matter what, I've changed way too many diapers, and know a lot about babies in general. but something about having my own, who I will be responsible for is so scary all of a sudden.
~ I have been having so many baby dreams-good and bad-and it's making everything so REAL. like what if I lose it and drop out of school and quit my jobs and then we can't pay our bills... daily thoughts that go through my head. I know it is going to be an amazing experience and so worth the frustration and sleep deprivation, but you never know! (my fear of the unknown has taken over my soul).
~ The fact that I don't even know what it's like to not be pregnant is weird.. will I ever be the same again?
~We finished our prenatal classes and I am kind of sad that they are over! there is something so calming about them and we have learned so much from them.
~ The nursery is almost done and I am hoping he doesn't come super early because I am not ready! he has maybe 6 outfits (i'm waiting to shop until after my shower) and we have no car seat yet! plus his room is not complete and I know if he comes before it is, it will never get done haha.
~ I am looking forward to the after shower shopping spree that Kaden and I will get to endeavor on. We love picking stuff out for him and anything miniature is just adorable. Kaden saw a baby tuxedo the other day and almost died haha!
~ I have gained 30 pounds.. but this last appointment I only gained 3 pounds in a month which I was super happy about! I feel like I expanded really quick and then settled which is completely fine with me!
~ He has been such a sweetheart with movements lately. I swear he knows my schedule and always holds still when i'm working or sleeping, which has been so very nice! He still moves A LOT, it's just at convenient times.
~ School is OVER! I can't stress enough how happy this makes Kaden & I! we still work a lot, but having no school and being able to spend more time together, snuggled up by the Christmas tree watching Christmas movies, is so nice and much needed. I've decided not to dance next semester, which is a relief, so I don't rush my body into healing too fast. So i'm just taking four classes and two of them are online so that will be a nice break.
~ Christmas time is my favorite time. finding presents for Kaden this year was hard because he never tells me what he wants, but I'm pretty sure I nailed it:) we get to go up north for a whole week and I am so excited! the past two years I have only been home for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so i'm excited to spend lots of time with our families.
~ In closing, I am super excited to meet my baby boy and see his cute face (hoping he has hair haha)! you can come anytime after January 10th (my shower) Cove!

27 week bumpdate

Size: 15 inches & 2.2 Ibs. (according to the app)

Food: I love everything. Kaden recently asked me if food is my first priority now.. the answer is yes. if i want something, I must have it right then or else a fit is thrown (oops).

Movement & Sleep: I put these two together because at this point they are hand in hand. Cove decides to wake me up about every hour during the night. I guess he is preparing me for after he gets here haha. anyways, it is a good night if I only wake up 3 or 4 times. also, I can't wait until tummy sleeping is okay again, I miss it so much!

Weight Gain: well, I've officially gain a whole 20 pounds. it's killing me inside, but I know it's just a skinny girl problem (sorry). I know I have a lot more to go too since I just barely hit the third trimester. whoooo!

Nursery: we have all of the furniture and the room is fully painted!! now just for decorating.

What's New: we start our prenatal classes tomorrow! I am so excited and Kaden is a little nervous, but he will thank me later! he doesn't know the first thing about babies let alone birth.. haha it will be interesting to see how he reacts when I go into labor! i'm hoping the classes will at least calm his soul.

Looking forward to: school being over. I am over dancing with this belly of mine. it gets more uncomfortable every week. although I will be dancing in January, Christmas break will be a nice break! (i'll probably end up popping in ballet haha)

updating

this month has really been so much fun. I love fall, it's my favorite season, and sharing it with my sweet husband and pregnant belly makes it even better! I have also been cooking a lot lately! cinnamon rolls, chicken pillows, peanut butter fingers.. yeah I love treats! I haven't had much time to blog due to school and work, plus my lack of picture taking haha, so here's a quick update.

such a cute Halloween party with my dance company! (this is only half of them). lots & lots of food :)

we had a fun get-together with some friends and carved pumpkins! neither Kaden
or I have in probably five years so it was super fun! plus, good company makes
everything better!

we got to go up north for Halloween weekend and it was so fun! what brought us up there is, kaden's cousin Haley had a free cut/color giveaway and I won it! I've never won anything so I was pretty excited. as you can see, it was a pretty drastic change, but it was time. the brown/red is just so perfect right now and I couldn't be happier with it! also, if you're looking for someone up north to do your hair I will give you her information because she's amazing!
Halloween is such a blast at the walker residence. they have a huge Halloween party and maze and it's so fun to see everyone. we miss seeing all of our family members since they all live in Utah county. any excuse to drive up works for us!
my little brothers birthday is October 30th so we got to attend his sweet sixteen (yes, he's that old already.. what?) party! I love being with my family so much and celebrating something makes it that much better. until thanksgiving pg, we will miss you!

24 weeks

24 weeks & 2 days, and feeling fine! I definitely feel a lot bigger, but I'm loving this cute little bump of mine. six months has gone by SO fast, and I just know the last three and a half will fly by. once the semester ends, we will have Christmas, my birthday, and then our little boy will be here anytime after that! I can't wait.

don't mind my ugly patio.. haha
How Far Along: 24 weeks, 2 days

Cravings: I will really eat anything at this point, but i'm loving the endless amounts of chocolate that Halloween brings :)

Weight Gain: at my last appointment I had gained 12 pounds.

Stretch Marks: I just have a few on my butt, but that's it. who knew it could get even bigger?

Maternity Clothes: I finally gave in and had to buy a pair of jeans so I could work comfortably at Chili's. That's the only place I wear them since I live in leggings, dresses, and dance gear.

Something New: my hands and feet have been starting to swell when i'm dancing, so I have to take my ring off for that. also, my shoes feel a lot tighter than they used to.

Looking Forward To: CHRISTMAS. it's our first Christmas together, I have a house to decorate, & we get to go home for more than two days this year, plus a snowmobiling trip maybe! whooo!

Nursery: we started painting, I have it all planned out to be bohemian styled, & I made the first decoration for it this weekend!

craftiness

okay, to start off, apparently when you get pregnant you all the sudden want to craft.. i have never been one to go into a craft store and just come up with things to go home and make-by myself. well, it happened and i'm actually pretty proud of myself! since kaden had to work all weekend, and i knew i would be home by myself every night, i had to come up with something to do by myself! so i turned to crafting.. i do have this super crafty gene that runs in my family, but it was never something i enjoyed doing until now. i did feel completely out of place in joann's, but i came out with everything i wanted and more and a coupon for my next visit! (which will probably be used sooner than later). this may be an addiction.

all the supplies- yes that is a glue gun because i didn't even own one of those.

i made these wood pumpkins conference weekend, and i had to make a wreath to match for my door!
it was pretty inexpensive, easy, and only took about 30 minutes! my kind of craft :)

i had to add something to the night for my baby boy! this is a dream catcher feather mobile to put above the crib.
this is the first thing to add to the plans i have for a cute bohemian boy nursery!
i am loving the fact that i am having a boy!!!
and i topped off the night making muffins to share with kaden right before he came home for the night :)
these are delicious and i highly recommend them!!
it may be time to finally bring down the sewing machine my mom gave me for my 14th birthday. i have hardly ever used it, but i'm thinking these craft nights are going to be a regular thing for me! now i just need to find some company to do it with :) but yay for joann's and great prices, sales, & coupons!
it made for one productive & not so lonely weekend.

the one & only

KATY PERRY!

let me start by saying, a year ago I told Kaden that when katy came to salt lake we were going no matter what! it has been a dream of mine to see her and i'm so glad we made it happen!
she was amazing, as was expected, and I even shed a tear when she finally came out. (yes I am that
girl + pregnancy hormones haha)! anyways, here is a video I took and some pictures from
this night to remember forever.

marli, her fiancé Cameron, & us.

gotta take a selfie ;)
p.s. I probably will have to go see her every time she comes now because i'll know what
i'm missing. everyone should join me because you won't regret it one bit!
even Kaden was dying because she was so good!

and here are some cute pictures of cove to add to this short, random post!

his cute little arm & body

I spy a booooy

a place to call home

well, we finally have a home! it is still a rental, but it feels so homey and roomy compared to our little apartment. we moved last Saturday in the pouring rain, but it was so worth it! we are finally all moved in but the house is still disorganized and not set up the way i'd like yet, so i'll just post some pictures that I snapped when we looked at it for the first time!
we are so in love and can't wait to welcome little cove into a real home.

we also have a back door that leads to our covered parking in the kitchen
area, and is a fenced patio too!

top left: washer & dryer (my favorite part). to the left is a half bath, to the
right is a large walk-in pantry.
top right: up-stairs hall bathroom
bottom left: this will be our office/guest bedroom/kaden's man cave
bottom right: Cove's soon to be room (it will need a paint job)

left: master bedroom! we love how much space we have :)
right: we also love that we have this bathroom all to ourselves IN our bedroom!

we feel so blessed to have an opportunity to live somewhere like this and couldn't ask for anything better! this will make living in Cedar for a couple more years so worth it!

FINALLY

IT'S A BOY!

we may have had to wait three extra weeks for this day, but it was such a surprise! today at my doctor's appointment they told us we could do it today! it was so much better going into as a surprise for us too:)
we are so happy to have a boy and to just know already!
Cove Kwin Walker is due February 1st, 2015.

little baby-moon

So for the weekend we decided to take a little getaway trip to escalante. Kaden's family owns a house there so it was pretty much free, which is always nice! it was just a nice relaxing few days that we got to get away from school and work, and actually spend quality time with each other.
The highlight of the trip was saturday. Kaden took me to a little river that wasn't deep at all and just flows over rocks, so you can actually walk right through it. No one is ever there so we had the whole place to ourselves!

It is such a pretty place and so relaxing! We found this hole in the middle of the river and kaden immediately wanted to get inside of it. I thought about it, but always talk myself out of things like that haha.

When i realized that he was completely fine, even though the water was freezing, i realized i should probably join him.. (i knew i would regret it later). so i took it slowly, but i finally made it and we spent about a half hour just sitting, talking, and laughing at the fact that we were sitting in the middle of a freezing cold river, as if it were a hot tub!
The sunshine was awesome, because i spent all summer indoors with morning sickness, and i am so white. This was definitely the highlight of the trip! of course nemo's (the only fast food place in escalante) and the gas station food were pretty good too!
We spent the remainder of the trip just relaxing and watching old movies like: mary poppins (kaden has never seen it.. what?!), spy kids, & aladdin. we love disney :)

Last highlight: peach shakes from Nemo's. they were just as good as taco amigo's and it made my day!

HALFWAY

so i am officially halfway through my pregnancy! 20 weeks & 5 days to be exact.

me about two weeks ago, but i'm still this same size.

highlight:
~the baby has officially started kicking and loves it haha it is constantly moving and i love it as well! kaden actually got to feel it too. if he puts a little pressure on my lower stomach he can feel it perfectly! i was really happy about this because feeling it is so hard to explain, and i wanted him to be involved and just as excited as me. plus, it's nice to know that the baby is really alive in there :) I haven't enjoyed being pregnant until this point, but now I look forward to those movements!

aversions:
~ red meat kills me. I've never been a big meat lover to begin with, but now even seeing it makes me gag (working at chili's doesn't help). the only time I can eat it is in a burger very, very well done. any pink at all makes me sick.

cravings:
~ I will go for fries & fry sauce any day
~ I crave BLT's constantly (only from the top spot)
~ strawberry and blueberry pop tarts are always in my purse

weight gain:
~ only about 5 pounds, which I'm completely happy with.

missing:
~ my family. I am so very homesick.

looking forward to:
~ still waiting to find out the gender (long story)
~ moving & starting the nursery
~ can't wait to see Kaden be a dad
~ our weekend babymoon

laugh of the week:
~ ALL my married friends need to watch this! it is hilarious & spot on.

marriage in college- school lately

so I thought I would post an update on how mine and kaden's school days are going, since our third week is coming to an end. unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to take first day of school pictures because we wake up at completely different times for school now. anyhow, Kaden is loving his classes and is so set on succeeding and getting good grades this semester (he had to take a year off). it makes me so happy to see him like this because I know it is going to pay off in the end!

Kaden doesn't have school until noon at the earliest, but mostly at one or two every day (he is so lucky). but, there is a flip side. his business major calls for a lot of homework, so when he gets home from work at 8pm he has hours of homework (which means I go to bed by myself almost every night. boooo). "it will be worth it!" everyone keeps telling us, but some days it is just so hard to believe. but Kaden is doing so well and is loving the classes regardless of the homework.

I have all dance classes on campus and two online courses. my online courses are fairly easy and I love that I can go at my own pace and not have to go to an actual class! I would much rather do homework at home than attend a class haha i'm weird. my dance classes are interesting now.. ballet kicks my butt and it seems to get harder as I get bigger, but, gotta do it. modern is just extremely awkward and I can't do a lot of the movement or even touch my toes anymore haha. I start my morning at either 8:30 or 9:00 every day and leaving with Kaden still in bed is soo hard for me. I love sleeping in (it never happens anymore).

I definitely love dancing though and wouldn't change my major for anything! I love my orchesis family (modern dance company), and my new little sister, mady.
my little, mady. she is so cute and we are personality twins :)

my cute family- jeneica, my big danikka, Katrina, me, & mady.
(don't mind us in our cute dance attire)

our new orchesis team gets to perform in the homecoming parade this Saturday (I get to sit in the back of the truck and throw candy hehe). I love them all and can't wait for another amazing year with amazing people. school wouldn't be the same without them!
orchesis at last years parade. we had lots graduate and go on missions,
so there are lots of new girls :)
